This site collects very little about you, and it sells none of it. The short version: we see standard analytics data when you browse, we store your email only if you give it to us, and we run no ad networks, no affiliate tracking, and no data brokers. The rest of this page spells out exactly what that means.
This policy covers daytradingapp.com only. It does not cover the brokers, software products, or other external sites we link to; each of those has its own privacy policy, and you should read it before opening an account or handing over payment details.
Who runs this site
Daytradingapp.com is an independent editorial site that researches and compares day trading apps, brokers, and tools. You can read about how the site works on our about page and reach us any time through the contact page. For questions specifically about this policy or your data, use that contact page and mention “privacy” so we route it correctly.
What we collect, and when
We collect information in exactly three situations.
1. You browse the site. Like nearly every website, we use analytics software to understand which pages get read and where visitors come from. This records things like the pages you view, the rough geographic region of your connection, your device and browser type, the site that referred you, and a truncated or anonymized IP address. Our web server also keeps standard access logs (IP address, timestamp, requested page) for security and uptime purposes. None of this identifies you by name.
2. You sign up for something. Some of our tools pages offer downloads such as the trading journal template, plus an optional email list. If you enter your email address, we store it and use it for exactly what you signed up for: sending the download or the emails you requested. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from the list. We never add you to a list you didn’t ask for, and we never share or sell the list.
3. You contact us. If you send a message through the contact page, we keep your message and email address long enough to respond and handle any follow-up, then we have no further use for it.
That’s the full inventory. We do not collect financial information, trading account details, brokerage credentials, or payment data; nothing on this site asks for any of those, and nothing on this site ever should. If a page appears to, you’re not on our site.
What we never do
A few commitments worth stating plainly:
- We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone.
- We run no third-party advertising networks and no ad-targeting pixels.
- The site currently carries no affiliate links and no affiliate tracking of any kind. If that ever changes, the change will be disclosed on our affiliate disclosure page and on every affected page, and any tracking involved will be limited to crediting a referral, not profiling you.
- We never connect to, read from, or ask about your brokerage accounts.
Cookies
The site uses a small number of cookies: the functional cookies our content management system needs to serve pages, and analytics cookies that distinguish new visits from returning ones. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles or to follow you across other websites. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site’s content works fine without them.
Service providers
A few third parties process data on our behalf so the site can function: a hosting provider serves the pages, an analytics service processes the browsing data described above, and an email service provider stores and sends to the mailing list. Each acts as a processor under our instructions, receives only the data needed for its job, and is not permitted to use your information for its own purposes. We don’t transfer your data to anyone beyond these operational providers unless the law compels it.
How long we keep things
Analytics and server-log data is kept in aggregate form for trend analysis and rotated or anonymized on the schedule our providers use, typically a matter of months for raw logs. Email addresses stay on the list until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Contact messages are deleted once the conversation is closed and no follow-up is pending.
Your rights
You can ask us, at any time and at no cost, to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. For email subscribers, the fastest deletion route is the unsubscribe link in any email; for everything else, send a request through the contact page and we’ll act on it promptly.
If you’re a California resident, the CCPA gives you formal versions of these rights, including the right to know, the right to delete, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. On that last one our answer is simple: we don’t sell personal information, so there’s nothing to opt out of. If you’re in a jurisdiction covered by the GDPR or a similar law, the same access, correction, and deletion rights apply, and our lawful basis for the processing described here is legitimate interest (analytics, security) or your consent (the email list), which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing.
Children
This site is about day trading, which involves real financial risk and is built for adults. The site is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has submitted information to us, contact us and we’ll delete it.
External links
Our pages link out to brokers, software vendors, regulators, and research sources. Once you click through, their privacy practices apply, not ours. This matters most when you open an account somewhere: brokers collect far more sensitive information than we ever will, so read their policies with the same skepticism you’d bring to their marketing.
Changes to this policy
If our data practices change, this page changes with them, and the “Last verified” date at the top is updated. Material changes (for example, if affiliate tracking is ever introduced under the activation process described on our affiliate disclosure page) will be stated here explicitly, not buried. We won’t quietly expand what we collect.
Questions
Anything unclear, or a request to make about your data: reach us through the contact page. For how we research and rate the products we cover, see our rating methodology, and for the legal terms governing use of the site, see our terms of use.
